Coaching: Use Cases

Use Cases

Here are some of the specific ways you may want to consider using the tool in your practice.

Ice Breaker

Breaking the ice can be awkward. The AgileBrain exercise is fun, fast and unique. It makes for an excellent kicking off point in a new coaching relationship.

Redirection

Sometimes a client is too unsettled or agitated to make progress during a coaching session. Stopping the session and introducing AgileBrain can have a calming effect, redirecting the session toward positive discussion. Hint: show video, send link, reconvene after 10 minutes to debrief results.

Transition

A major transition is an important time to touch base with one’s emotional / motivational state. Transitions can include a new job, unemployment, retirement, divorce, loss of loved one, relocation, reorganization, merger, among others.

Check-in

Revisiting one’s emotional / motivational profile from time-to- time can provide a great reason for a check-in and an opportunity to assess progress on issues raised by previous profiles.

Roadblock

Sometimes we get stuck. An emotional / motivational profile can help pinpoint areas of strong emotions, particularly negative emotions, and provide a framework for putting words to those feelings.

Team

AgileBrain profiles can be generated for groups as well as individuals. The resulting group profile helps define the culture of the group and pinpoint areas of alignment and tension as well as identify, on a confidential basis, outlier members who may require additional support.
